OSA Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual and in-person advising sessions with students
  • Recruit students through general events on campus
  • Participate in college specific Interest Sessions, Preview Days, Academic Insight Fairs, etc.
  • Host Fall and Spring Study Abroad Fairs
  • Conduct required in-person student Outbound Orientation prior to program departure
  • Risk Management
  • Support Faculty Director throughout process
  • Assist Faculty Director with budget preparation
  • Create online application for each program
  • Create standard marketing materials for each program
  • Charge program fees to all students’ accounts (OSA does not collect any money)
  • Transfer student program fees to departments
  • Create courses on Campus 8 and give students permission to register
  • Purchase international health and evacuation insurance for each student and faculty member
  • Provide Faculty Director with emergency contact and health information for participants
  • Enroll Student and Faculty in STEP
