Hey! So, you are looking to study abroad? The Office of Study Abroad is here to help! On this page you will find information on how to get started as the process can be very overwhelming. A great way to get a taste for everything study abroad is by attending one of our fairs. If there is not a fair happening, no need to panic, just enroll in our FREE self-enroll canvas course. All the preliminary information about studying abroad is included in the course. The information provided in the course videos will give you an overview of study abroad – program types, scholarships, financial aid, how to apply to a program, credit transfer, etc. – as well as specific program information. In addition to all the fun stuff mentioned above you can also talk face-to-face with a study abroad advisor through an appointment or walk-in advising. Walk-in advising takes place every week throughout the semester, so there will always be someone to answer all your questions. Start your study abroad journey with us today!

Spring Study Abroad Fair

Mark your calendars! The Spring Study Abroad Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 10 – 2pm in the Colvard Student Union and on the Drill Field! The fair will have all your favorite faculty-led professors who will be leading a study abroad over Summer. Representatives from our affiliated provider companies will be there along with study abroad alum. Don’t miss the study abroad event of the semester!

Free Study Abroad 101 Self-Enroll Canvas Course

The best way to learn about study abroad opportunities at Mississippi State is by joining our free self-enroll Canvas course! Study Abroad 101 can be found by following the bullet point instructions below. In the Study Abroad 101 course there are specifics on what study abroad is, how it works, why it is important, program types, how to pick a program, and more. There are videos, documents, and links to further assist your learning. The Canvas course is a great place to start to get a better understanding of study abroad before meeting with an advisor. After browsing through the Study Abroad 101 course meet with advisor at walk-in advising to help guide you through the process or use any of the links to start an application.

 

*There is no charge to join this course and there are no graded components.  This is simply an informational platform for students.

 

To join Study Abroad 101:

  • Login to myState
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • In the “Canvas Course Self Enrollment” box in the bottom right corner click “Find a Course”
  • From the drop-down menu select “Study Abroad 101”
  • Slide the Confirm Enrollment button to “Yes” and click “Self-Enroll”
